Boundaries and Communication

When you say yes to others, make sure you're not saying no to yourself.

Healthy boundaries keep us protected and connected. If we struggle with setting boundaries, we likely struggle with people pleasing, feeling depleted, and at times growing resentful. If we struggle with having walls, we likely will begin to feel isolated and emotionally unavailable.

Learning how to identify and implement boundaries, using healthy communication, is something that many of us did not learn growing up. Many of us end up in adulthood either falling on the side of having too few or flexible boundaries or being more rigid and walled off. In the Boundaries and Communication Workshop, we will identify various types of boundaries, explore why boundaries can be difficult to set and maintain, and practice communication exercises that will help you set boundaries in your personal life. We will explore what makes healthy and functional communication with others and common communication mistakes.

Our goal for this workshop is for you to feel capable and confident in your communication with others, knowing that you are being relational and protecting yourself along the way. If you have not taken the Drama Triangle and Distorted Anger Workshop, we recommend taking that workshop coupled with this one to deepen your understanding of potential dysfunction happening in your relationships.
